Hi there,
If you deleted something from a page or post, you can restore the page / post back to a previous version. WordPress saves previous versions of pages / posts for this exact reason.
To recover to a previous version of a page / post, go to:
My Sites > Posts > All Posts and select the post you want to restore to a previous version OR
My Sites > Pages > All Pages and select the page you want to restore to a previous version. On the right side of the screen, under Status & Visibility, you will see Revisions.
Select the version of the page you want to restore to and click Load button. The timelines should give you an idea of the actual version you want.
After loading the version, click Update button to effect the changes.
I hope this helps.

Hi @joanelliott,
To add to what @nuk4040 noted, here’s how you can view and restore revisions: https://wordpress.com/support/editors/page-post-revisions/
I hope that helps and please reach out again if you have any further questions.
