I deleted a site but want to restore it
-
I created a WordPress blog for my organization a few months ago but then deleted it. However, we are now in need of a new blog and would like to use the same Blog Site Address. When I try to update this in WordPress.com Site Address Change, it says the name is reserved. Is there any way we can be granted permission for this? We would also need to move it to our organization’s email.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Please provide the URL for the blog in question in the form of an active link starting with http://

That site has not been deleted. It’s an active blog and the login link is
http://lagillespie7.wordpress.com/wp-admin/You must be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard.
Clicking this link should display all your blogs registered under the same username, including the hidden ones: https://dashboard.wordpress.com/wp-admin/index.php?page=my-blogs&show=hidden
If you do not see the blog here http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-blogs/ then
follow this guide > http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-blogs/#my-blogs-dashboard-visibilityIf you have lost your log-in information you can visit https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword
If required please complete the form for account recovery at this link https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery and submit it to the Account Recovery Staff so they can contact you by email ie. not on these public support forums which are available to everyone with internet access.

I think my situation has been misunderstood. I know the blog is active but I would like to change the site address. When I try to do this on the Change my Site Address page for the existing blog, it says the name is reserved. I am looking to re-obtain ownership of that site address since I used it in the past.

When we register a username account the matching blog is reserved for our future use. It cannot be obtained by anyone other than the person who has registered the matching username account. If you have changed your username then the blog URL will not be available for use under the new username account.

7. The final option presented on this screen allows you to discard your current address. This option will permanently disable the address and you will not be able to reuse it. Only select this option if you are sure you will not use the address again. If you want to redirect traffic to the new blog, you can keep the address and purchase the Site Redirect upgrade. http://en.support.wordpress.com/changing-blog-address/

I do not believe I changed my username. Would there be a way to reset the address? I would be willing to email someone privately about this issue.

You cannot recover or register any discarded ie. deleted blog URL. Deleted blog URLs are not recycled, regardless of who registered and deleted them and no exceptions are made.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/You can register another .wordpress.com blog http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/
Then if you wish to you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade because it does not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is when you are domain mapping.

Hello !
I’m trying to reach you Timethief but cant’t figure out HOW. So here searching through the forums for an answer I see that I can write.I have 2 wordpress pages and 2 domains. The 1st one : celiasoto.wordpress.com, I just deleted it. The second one, http://www.celiasoto.com, is the good one.
I try to log in but the system keep refusing my access and when I try for the 30th time, it lets me in.
I thought it was because I have the same email adress registered for both sites ((email visible only to moderators and staff)) So, maybe the system gets confused ?!Now, as I deleted the first one, I hope it will function right. My website, http://www.celiasoto.com, should be related to my email adress (but it seems only the 1st site is)

@celiasoto
http://www.celiasoto.com/ is not hosted by WordPress.COM. We provide support only for blogs being hosted WordPress.COM and not for WordPress.ORG software installs. You are posting to the wrong support forum.WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate and different http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there and receive advice from WordPress.ORG bloggers.
