  I deleted an address and now my friend cannot use it – please help!

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  That’s not possible. Deleted blog URLs are not recycled, regardless of who registered and deleted them http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/

  Deleting a site permanently removes it and you’ll never be able to reuse its WordPress.com address. If you delete a blog you will not be able to get it back and no one else will be able to use that blog address. You must be sure you never want to use the blog again if you delete it.

  There are multiple warnings given that blog deletion is permanent. A verification link is sent in an email and must be clicked to delete a blog. If you clicked it and the blog was deleted it’s game over. http://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/

  However, you can register another blog with a similar name. http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/

  Or you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade and it will not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is.

  Thanks for your reply! I totally did not realize this when I tried to help my friend to set up her new blog… I was on my blog and we just wanted to get out of it so that she could set it up as her own with her own password etc. :( Thanks again!
