I deleted my blog and I'd like to re-use the domain.

  I deleted my blog and I wish to re-use to the domain so I can restart. I understand that I could’ve deleted all the content or contacted support to clear the content, but unfortunately that’s not what happened. I also understand WordPress does not allow other to take over domains deleted by its owner, but this domain was created be me and it will be re-used by me. Is this possible?

  Deleted blog addresses can’t be recycled even by its owner, unfortunately.

  Please choose a different address for your blog.

  Yes I have read that bit about recycling blog names. They make it clear that others are not to use deleted blog names, not original owners.

  And don’t get me wrong, I understand and appreciate the fact that WordPress is allowed to do whatever they want because they own the system. But that doesn’t mean the opinion of those they wish to please shouldn’t be of importance.

  It is not possible even for the original owners to recycle the deleted blog name.

  @geozoide – You could also register a Custom Domain (a paid upgrade which needs to be renewed annually) and then it wouldn’t matter what the underlying WPcom site address is.
