I deleted my free wordpress blog and it affected my self-hosted site.

    I did the import/export and I initially thought I did it successfully, but after I deleted my free wordpress blog, my self-hosted site was affected. The pictures just turned into broken links and I don’t have a back up of those pictures. Basically, I would need to recover the media from my deleted blog and I don’t know how to do it without the help of your technical team.

    Hi there,

    When exporting, did you check the box next to the Download & import file attachments as described here?:

    Go ahead and take a look again.

    When files were still being drawn from your WordPress.com site. When that is the case, the old site has to be online and accessible during import. But, make sure you download the attachments. That way, when the old site is taken offline, you won’t have the broken link issue again.
