I deleted my posts page somehow – ? help?!?

  so, I’m obviously pretty new to WP, but working on developing a blog for our church, and I don’t want any extra pages to show up at all. I only want my posts page to show, b/c I’m linking this whole WP site separately from my actual website (already created in joomla). So to clear all extra, I deleted all the pages. I guess I deleted the posts page too, but there wasn’t one called posts… ? All of my posts are still there in my dashboard under admin, but when I click on View Site I get the following error: NOT FOUND
  and “Apologies, but the page you requested could not be found. Perhaps searching will help.”

  Ironically, if I do search for the word Blog, I get a result showing one of my blog posts that I used the word Blog in. But it’s not the whole page. Oh, and my Pages>Trash is empty–my bad–but I did try that.

  The front page on any blog is this Home page unless you change it to a static page. If you delete the Hello World page then what you get on the front page is a 404 (page not found) error message and it disappears when you publish a post, not a page. That being said, you have posted to the wrong support forum. We cannot help you here at WordPress.com with that site as it’s not being hosted by WordPress.com and we run on different software. This is the correct forum for your software http://wordpress.ORG/support/

  Thanks for the info. I tried to add a post and I still get the 404. For some reason I’m not getting any posts to show.

  I did leave a question at .org support but no replies.
