I did a payment of 106 for a domain, and I cancelled it but it’s still there, and I’d like a cancellation and a refund

    How do I recover my money, cancel the domain and refund me the 106?

    @dakotasbook you bought a redemption fee. That is not refundable.

    Would you like us to restore the domain so you can use it elsewhere?

    I’m sorry what is a redemption fee? Because that wasn’t explained, I thought I was buying a monthly payment plan where the final score would be 106€, also what I paid for didn’t work that’s why I decided to cancel it, and I don’t understand what you mean by this redemption fee?

    I am a student, I have literally no money left because of this which doesn’t even work, and thought I was paying another thing… I don’t want to trouble you or anything but it’s very kind if you could help me out, I feel like this is wrong. At least refund me half of that amount, you can delete the whole account and sites. I know you don’t refund misunderstanding but you should definitely refund the lack of efficiency it had and the lack of explanation…? I’m sorry I’m just I can’t believe 106€ for nothing.

    Hi Sarah,

    During checkout, it was clearly stated that this was a redemption fee for that domain and not a monthly payment for a plan as no plan has been added to the cart. When a domain is canceled it goes into redemption before being released. Therefore, if you want to register that same domain you need to pay for a redemption fee. This fee is charged by the domain registry and is not one that we can waive or refund after it has been paid.

    If you were looking at purchasing a plan I can restore the canceled domain and give you a discount for the plan.

    Okay, what would that mean, I wanted to renew my domain but then all this happened and the domain still didn’t work as I pressed the link so I cancelled every plan trying to start again or just stop it all, and i got refuned the plans but no thtis “redemption fee” which I thought was part of it all. So, can you explain how I can not waste that money now and what would I get?

    Redemption is a phase the domains go through when they expire or are canceled. Have a look at this page to see what stages the domains go through after they expire:

    If your domain was now working right after renewing it probably just needed some time for the changes to propagate.

    I went ahead and restored the domain rawpoetryforyou.com back to your account, even though the price of the domain was already refunded.
    You can use it with your site without purchasing anything else or, you can get any of our paid plans if you’d rather not have ads display on your site.
