I didn’t add this blog
-
I just got an email that I had added this blog. Only, I didn’t. I have no idea how this happened. I immediately changed my password, since I assume someone would need a password to do this, but I want this sucker gone.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

To my roster of blogs, as in, I didn’t start the thing, so I don’t know how or why it ended up as a “transfer blog” on my list, and I got an email for it. I already have five blogs I’m ignoring, why would I want a sixth?

If another WordPress.com user knows your email address, he or she can add you to any blog without your permission by going to Users and entering your email address.
If you do not want to be part of the blog, you can log in to that blog’s Dashboard and remove yourself from the Users list in Users > Users.

So what you are saying here is that if somebody I don’t know knows my email address they can add a blog? What’s up with that?
-
Also, I’m the only listed user. So why did somebody add a blog I know nothing about? In order to have a place for their spambots to go? Maybe somebody got my email address from Twitter or Facebook, and used it to add a blog? I friended somebody on Twitter the other day that I thought I might know because all her other “friends” were part of a knitting group I frequent. I’ve blocked her now, as well as changing my password here. And I will take myself off the users list for this blog.

Why in god’s name would you have your email on Facebook or Twitter? Yes, spammers will grab it. People on Twitter can tweet you. People on FB can Message you.
Sometimes people just add you to blogs they think you’ll like to contribute to, and sometimes they do it to annoy you (Penguins do this).

I don’t have my address there Rain, I’m not completely ignorant. But there is a million ways they can grab your address these days. And now I find that they can then come in here and add a blog, or even just a blog name, to my roster? This one seems innocuous, but what if somebody wanted to embarrass a politician or someone, and put up a blog name that would be repugnant to them, even though mainstream enough to not breach TOS, they can? Google it, and it goes back to your account. Either the bots are getting very clever, or there was a major glitch where somebody else’s blog ended up on my roster. And the way every farking social network thing is all linked together these days? The mind boggles.

No, if you google it it will NOT go back to your account unless you’ve made a post on that blog.
