As the title states, I didn’t create this account. Nonetheless, it uses my email address. Is there any way I could have it deleted? I know it’s impossible to delete accounts, but is there any difference if they’re unverified?

When we register a username at WordPress.com we provide a username and an email address. The email address we use becomes our unique identifier.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/email-address/As those with WordPress.org installs require API keys for their plugins they also register a username here as well as at WordPress.org.

There is an email confirmation step required in order to create an account, so someone would have had to have had access to your email in order to create a WordPress.com account with your email address.
We have a policy of not re-using the usernames, so that part cannot be deleted. You can edit the profile to remove all info except the username and email if that helps.
