I disconnected jetpack and my whole site disappeared

    Hi. Today I opened a new WordPress account, paid the fees and registered a domain name. I was two hours into the website creation process when I got some warning and block messages and decided to disconnect jetpack. When I did, my website disappeared and now it says I don’t have an account with WordPress. Please assist.

    What is the domain you bought?

    If you were using Jetpack, it means your site is built using the open source WordPress software made on WordPress.org, and you would have bought the domain and a hosting plan from a different company, not from us.

    The forum you’re posting in now is for WordPress.com. You use Jetpack to connect a WordPress site you’re hosting somewhere else to a WordPress.com account, but we don’t have direct control over your site, and you didn’t pay us for anything.

    You’ll need to reconnect Jetpack for the site to appear here in your WordPress.com account again. To do that, log into the site’s WP-Admin dashboard using your admin user account, which is something different from your WordPress.com username account.
