I do not accept adverts.

Will you advertise on my site even though I’m paying you to use my URL?

I’m also going to have to pay you for the extra CSS editing features,

Hell, I’ll pay a totally separate fee just so the adverts aren’t there.

I need to know if I have any form of choice in this, if the answer is a no, I’m out of here and paying for my own server.

    Thankyou all for reading,

As a musician I cannot have people thinking I’m trying to make money out of them reading an article, thats all.

I really need a response on this so I can cancel my URL usage on my blog within the time limit I get.

The ads are part of the Terms of service you agreed to – that is how WordPress.COM pays for your “Free” blog.

You can get the No Ads upgrade to take the ads off – I think about $ 30– a year – should be under Upgrades in your Dashboard.

TSP has the relevant paragraph bookmarked maybe he will drop by with the link for you in the TOS.

Ok thats fine as long as there is an option. Looks like this “free” blog is going to cost me a fee per year of $57 just because I wanted to use a different colour, my own url, and not try and sell rubbish to my potential customers.

The owner of wordpress must be absolutely minted.

If I download from wordpress.org does it have some code in it that forces these adverts on my page? As in, do I still have to pay?

And would I be able to use this same template with the .org program?

    Cheers

Even at $ 57 it is still a bargain – If you self host with a WordPress.ORG software install there are no ads, but you will probably pay a bit more total cost and when things break or it is time to upgrade you are on your own.

I did not look at your Theme but the Themes here are modified here with lots of extra Widgets in place of Plug-in’s to functions and make blogging easier. You should be able to find a similar Theme.

Much easier here, I used to have a .ORG install and moved here to get out of the Webmaster business.

Others should give you a bit more info on the difference.
