I do not have the option to allow comments on my new posts or discussion options

  I clicked on screen options and “Discussion” is not an option – there is no box to check/uncheck. It must be hidden – where can I find it? I need to have the discussion option show for a class assignment by this weekend. What’s strange is that my first post has a comment box, but this current one (that I added yesterday) does not. The link for “Comments” in on the post, but when you click on it, no box appears. Please help!

  The checkbox will only appear in the Screen Options tab when you’re editing a post or page. Please try editing a post or page and check the Screen Options tab there.
