  • Hi there,

Are you speaking of the message in Safari to allow Calypso to use more storage? If you want WordPress.com to work correctly in Safari, you have to allow that. The reason you see that at all is because Safari insists on working differently than every other browser that exists, and sets an arbitrary limit on the amount of data a website can store locally in the browser cache.

The only reason this data is stored in the cache is so that the WordPress.com dashboard will load more quickly and use less data when you access it, as it will allow your browser to load some files from its own memory instead of downloading them from the web. It poses no security risk at all to you, and is necessary for the website to work. All websites do this, and Safari is the only browser I know of that doesn’t just allow it.

If you clear your browser cache, any data that’s currently stored there will be removed, but then you will again see that pop-up every time you access the WordPress.com dashboard. There is nothing we can do to prevent that, as it is Safari showing you that message, not us.
