I do NOT want people to click on the top menu, but ONLY on the drop down menu

  Hi there,

  I have created my website with wordpress and I’m kinda proud of it.
  The only thing that bothers me, is that I have created a menu, but I don’t want people to be able to click on all of them.

  Let me try to explain: If I have, in my menu, for example, the options “about us” and “portfolio”.
  Then I do want people to be able to click on “about us”, so they get the page explaining who we are right away.
  However, I do NOT want people to be able to click on the word “portfolio” on the menu, because there is a submenu where I want them to click with, for eg, “portraits”, “landscape”, “birth”, etc…
  Clicking on “portfolio” would lead them to a blank page, because I cannot put all of my pics there, that’s why I created a submenu.

  Problem now is that people DO click on “portfolio”, don’t see the drop down menu, only see an empty page, and then leave (I see it in my stats).

  How can I solve this?

  If your theme supports a Custom Menu, justpi has posted a method for doing what you want here: http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2011/12/19/custom-menus/ specifically under Other options, special cases and tricks > c. Submenu with non-linking top level tab.
