I don't have a creditcard, how can I upgrade to premium?

  I want to pay the upgrade to premium with PayPal but I been asked :
  ‘To complete the payment with WordPress.com, please add a new credit card.’
  I have a PayPal account but don’t have creditcards so I can not perform the payment.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi Didier,

  You can sign-up for the Premium plan using Paypal, but if you were attempting to sign-up with the Free Trial, the free trial requires a credit or debit card on file as it automatically charges when the trial is complete.

  To purchase the Premium with Paypal, go to your Store > My Upgrades page in your blog dashboard. Click “buy now” next to Premium. You’ll get a page that looks like this:

  

  Choose Paypal under “Choose a Payment Method.” When you click the Purchase button you’ll be asked to log in to Paypal and complete the transaction there.

  Hi Alex,

  I did it the correct way as you describe it.

  But than I have to link a new debit or credit card to make an instant payment:
  “To complete the payment with WordPress.com, please add a new credit card.”

  The payment types to choose from are 4 credit card types, I have not the possibility to choose my debit card.

  My other transactions with PaypPal don’t have such a question
  ” add a new credit card ” and be carried out using an email address.

  I fear that I am stuck !

  Hi Didier,

  I looked into this a little bit on the Paypal side, and apparently the cause of this is in how WordPress and Paypal work together to allow people setting up auto-renew on some features.

  Because of the auto-renew functionality, Paypal requires users to have a backup form of payment (like a credit card) to do the payment — even if you’re paying one-time, not auto-renewed, and even if you’re paying out of your paypal balance instead of with the card. It’s not something we can turn off.

  If you do not have a credit card or debit card that Paypal can accept, I believe another option is linking a bank account to Paypal Wallet:
