I don't know why my site it dow. How do I fix it?
-
Hello. For the last decade we connected wordpress with Justhost for our website [redacted]
When you try to go on that URL, you get an error message that reads ‘Something unexpected happened while accessing this website. It looks like it doesn’t have an active domain connection upgrade to link the requested domain name to the WordPress.com site.
If this is your domain name and it has recently stopped working, it’s possible that your plan or domain may have expired. Please log in to your WordPress.com account and review the status of your plan and domain.’
Can you please tell me how to fix this? We have had this website for so long and it has never been a problem. I have tried to do something on my end but I can’t figure it out.
WP.com: Yes
Correct account: Yes -
It looks like you started a domain transfer to WordPress.com earlier today to the site [redacted] under the account you’re currently logged into. This website has no content.
Prior to that, there was a domain mapping upgrade under a different account that pointed to the site [redacted] – is that the site where your content is now?
Looking at the domain history, it looks like the domain and your mail servers are set at JustHost, but the website itself has been here at WordPress.com for quite some time. It also looks like you haven’t started the domain transfer process from JustHost to WordPress.com yet either.
To fix this, you’ll need to log into the account that is the site Administrator for alfredfarmersmarket.wordpress.com and ask in this thread that we cancel the domain transfer and restore the domain connection upgrade. The account you’re currently logged into is only an Editor and we can’t make changes to the site without the Administrator’s approval.
Let us know if you have any questions. Otherwise, we’ll wait to hear back from the site Administrator.
Thanks!

Yes that purchase this morning was very much made in error. I was under the assumption that I was linking alfredfarmersmarket.wordpress.com to the Justhost domain we own [redacted]. That our ultimate goal.
I did not create the [redacted] site and have no idea how that happened. This whole process has been awful and confusing. I hope I didn’t just waste $18 and I don’t know how to cancel that transaction or reroute it to actually link the websites I intend to link. Can you help me do this?
Further, we on the board do not know who is the “Administrator” of this website. The market manager email is an editor, another email I have (Cassandra) is another editor. But there is no way for us to see on our end who the Administrator is. Can you help us find this? Perhaps it was an old board member and we have to reach out to them to have them change the settings. Without that, we are a bit doomed!

Posting again from the market manager account:

Hi there,
Thank you for clarifying. Let me answer those one at a time.

At this point, it appears that you have started the transfer process. Once that happens it’s we are not able to cancel on this end. Instead please contact Justhost support and ask if they can cancel the transfer on their end. If they can, then a refund will be possible and we can help with that. If not the best course of action is to regain access to [redacted] we can move the domain from this account to that one.

Sites on WordPress.com are owned by the individuals that set them up, and not by companies or other organizations. For that reason we’re limited in the amount of info we can share. The good news is that we have a dedicated team that can help with account access issues. You can contact them here and they will assist you to the best of their ability: passwordhelp@wordpress.com
Additionally, on your end if you are able, see if you can find any receipts (possibly check credit card statements for the organization) to see if you can find a charge related to [redacted]. We ask for that info as a form of ‘proof of ownership’ so if you can locate that it will greatly speed up the process of recovering the account. More info on how to locate transaction IDs here: https://wordpress.com/support/billing-history/#retrieving-a-transaction-id
Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.

Hi there,
My issue has been resolved. Justhost reversed the domain linkage with the fake address and we have found who the original admin was. AND we have already been refunded. Pretty quick resolution for such a mess! Thank you for your help.
Is there any way you can delete this thread so no one can see it?
We got a call earlier from someone claiming they could fix our issue if we pay them money…. super phishy. So I’d prefer to just get this removed to avoid any further confusion.

Hi there,
I’m glad that this is now resolved.
As for deleting this forum thread, it’s not possible. But I’ve redacted any mention of your site’s address.
