Hi
Thank you
Well its obvious that I need a sales person and not a forum that part is clear I from the tile.My 2 questions to the WP sales are —
1-I have a web created in a file form I want to buy the domain and up load this web as is, will I have a problem or not be able-permitted to do that can it be tested before I buy the domain to be 100% sure?
2-What is your bank info and swift code if I want to pay for my domain via bank transfer to WP bank account?
thank you for the help are you a sales or an unofficial one?
How can I speak to WP sales?thx

Hello –
I am a staff member for Automattic Inc, the company behind WordPress.com.

You can definitely play around with a free site + plan to get a feel for WordPress.com before you go live with the custom domain.
Here are the different import options for a WordPress.com site:

Here is a list of our accepted payment methods: https://en.support.wordpress.com/payment/

Hi
Thank you for the reply
1///
It would seem that the free account dose not accept up loads that is why I ask about the basic 2nd level non free.If we can start with up loading on the free level I would be very happy when it works to up grade it with the existing file only.
The source and original files are from an other free web/ I want to transfer it to a paid domain name WP? It has a blog but is not only a blog/in fact the blog is not useful that it has.
2////
There is no mention of bank transfers in that faq ?ty 4 help

You can import content to a free .wordpress.com site with these instructions: https://en.support.wordpress.com/import/
Please note, that you will need to import from one of the platform types listed. It is not possible to import raw files to any WordPress.com site, regardless of your plan.
We can accept payment via credit/debit or paypal as mentioned in this guide:
We are not able to accept bank transfers. -

I think weebly where I created it is also part of the American only club are they acceptable? for WP?
Also its just a web not really only a blog so will it work in that case?
It sounds like it dose not work even if I throw money -
Hi
Lets try this… can you post the exact location of the page place where the file can be uploaded? To see if it can be done this way I can see if it takes it or not on the free web side, then upgrade if it works
thanks in advance

Please read over these instructions on importing a blog: https://en.support.wordpress.com/import/#importing-content-from-another-platform
If your platform is not listed, you’ll first want to convert the blog into a platform listed in that guide. You will need to register a free site to get started with the import process. We aren’t able to import the previous blog without a landing spot for it. Check out this domains guide: https://en.support.wordpress.com/register-domain/

Hi
Thanks I read it but in fact I am still left with the same problem, I don’t know if my weebly site that is a free can be up loaded and upgraded with the file as it may contain code that is not acceptable I don’t know it,,,
This is why I want to test it!
This WP web just keeps taking me in circles and has no option to up load on the free side can you help directing with out referring me to more reading that has failed to deliver so far?
A direct link to up load the web file would work but you don’t have it it would seem.
Thanks again what can be done`?

@technologyinharmony Have you set up a free WordPress.com site that you can use as a test bed? What is the file format of the file you have taken from your Weebly site? Is it an .xml file? If not can it be converted to an .xml file so it can be imported into WordPress easily? Is your Weebly site still online? I recall in the past the easiest way of transferring from Weebly (although I think that was to WordPress.org) was using an RSS feed.

Without having a registered site I’m not able to give you a direct link, as the site address is a part of that link.

hi themagicrobot
thnx 4 asking
It is just a zip file from the back up web option that is made for restoring and such, I am not a web designer by trade.Yes the web is running ok
Yes I have signed on but have not paid for the domain since I want to try to up load it on the free side but no one seems to know how. Or where the option is to do only that.As I said I am not an experienced web pro at all, there seems to be no reason or option to make it an exl file it just saves it as a zip, but maybe you can tell me where I can find the place to try to up load it?
PS
It kept just taking me around in circles and I was unable to skip steps to get to the right place and did not want to make possible problems creating something I did not want.Do I perhaps need to go through all the crap of making a personal web to get to that option that I need perhaps so I can up load the file?
thnx

@technologyinharmony I think you really need to do some deep Googling research about this issue. It really isn’t WordPress.coms “Sales staff” job to explain how a rival company/Weebly works. Looking around the Interweb people have managed to get content from Weebly to WordPress but it is far from straight-forward. Some have copy/pasted their posts into Word. Some as I said earlier have used an RSS feed (ten posts at a time though..). I believe there are even companies you can pay that claim to be able to transfer your data.
The only way to get content into WordPress.com (short of re-writing your whole site post by post) is by going to “Settings” “Import” in your WordPress dashboard once you have an .xml file. As staff-zinnia said, there might feasibly be a workaround where your Weebly content is transferred to a different platform before being transferred again to WordPress. This all sounds like a big job to me.
PS: Don’t take this as gospel but I’ve just asked someone who once used Weebly. He believes the zip file you’ve got won’t even restore back into a Weebly blog, let alone WordPress but you can unzip it and see your images etc. What is the address of your Weebly site? How much content have you got there? As you can only transfer content and not themes/menus etc would copy/paste not be an option?

Hello
Update I got to the dashboard but and found a place to drag files and of course it did not work.
I also tried one file at a time with no luck
-
You’ll want to import the old blog from here: https://technologyinharmony.wordpress.com/wp-admin/import.php Is that where you have been working?
-
No its not a blog but a web from zip file created in weebly I want to put it here and then upgrade, when I up load 1 file at a time from the drag and drop I object at a time get errors I tried them all as well.
PS It dose have a blog in it on one page but its not so important, I think the blogs are at least better.
So the only progress I made was getting to the dashboard however perhaps I am uploading in the wrong place not sure why it wont work.

The only way to import your Weebly site is to first convert it to one of the platforms listed here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/import/
Then you can use our import tools via your wp-admin dashboard. Go to Tools > Import and select the platform you’re going to use.
-
Hi
I was able to navigate to the /wp-admin dashboard but that Import was only for copying blogs with only from a handful of sites weebly was not one of them. Unless you have some other location in mind?
so still no help there
-
Right. You will need to convert your Weebly site into one of those platforms listed in the /wp-admin dashboard at Tools > Import as explained in these instructions: https://en.support.wordpress.com/import/
