I don't see the like button on my blog
-
I received an email saying that someone liked a post on my blog and I wanted to go to that person’s blog to like some of their posts in return. However, when I went to their post, I don’t see a way to like anything. Then I went to my own page and I don’t see a way to like anything there either. Is there some sort of setting that I need to change or am I looking in the wrong place?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi Sara,
I just checked our email logs and found that you had a like on the post: Spicy Southwestern Slow Cooker Chicken.
I am able to see a like on that post as seen here:

Here’s a screenshot of the like:
Cheers!

I see it clearly on your screen shot. It is still not on my website when I log in from any browser. Occasionally, when I open a link from my email to go to the site, I will see the like button as well as the various share buttons, but usually not at all. Why is it so inconsistent and how to I fix it?

Hi Sara,
Can you take a screenshot of the like area on this page:

Then upload that to your Media > Library page. I’d be happy to take a further look.

Hey there.. I don’t have a clue how you got to one particular post all by itself. I went to the site’s homepage and scrolled down to where one post ends and the next one begins and took a screenshot of that. There is nothing there but a line.

Hi Sara,
Please note that you have your settings set so that the likes/shares do not show up on the Front page, just the specific posts pages which is why you can see the like on the specific post page but not on your Front page.
If you want to view the likes/shares on the Front page, go to Settings > Sharing in your Dashboard and where it says: Show buttons on, check off:
Front Page, Archive Pages, and Search Results
Then click Save Changes at the bottom.

Another quick question.. When the site is opened from a mobile device, the only “follow” button is the WordPress follow button. Is this only useable if you are a WordPress user? Because I have had several people click that button from their phones and they said it doesn’t do anything… And on my end they are not following.

Hi Sara,
You added the WordPress.com Follow Button widget. If you add the Follow Blog widget anyone can follow via email.
