I don’t think my email subscribers are receiving my new posts from my blog?

Hi, I don’t think my email subscribers are receiving my new posts from my blog? How can I tell it’s working?

    Correct account: Unknown

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there,

Why do you think they’re not receiving the emails? Has any subscriber said that to you?

If you give us the email addresses of a few subscribers, we can check if the emails are going through to them from our end. Or the other option is to just ask those subscribers if they’ve been receiving the emails :)

Hello, the first post I published I had one person reply to it but only because I shared the post to fb so I asked her if she got an email and she said no…?

Thanks for checking, I appreciate the help.

  • Thanks for those emails, Valerie. I had a look and it seems like neither of these users is subscribed to your blog. In fact, if you go to Users, you’ll notice that you don’t have any followers yet.

Folks have two ways to subscribe to your blog. Via their WordPress.com account (from the button they see on any site or from the Reader) or via email (from a button you’d need to add to your site). Here’s more information about that:

    Hi,
That’s what I find confusing. I can see I have 1 follower but I have 48 people who have sent me emails that I can see. How do I link these two together?
How do the people that signed up for emails become followers?
    Thanks

    Hi,
It looks like when I’m on the bluehost dashboard I can see 48 subscribed……? Why doesn’t this link with WordPress? I’m confused?

  • Hmm… it seems that wattstraveling.com is not a site that is hosted directly on WordPress.com, but one that is connected to us via the Jetpack plugin you added on that site.

To clarify, the Jetpack plugin includes the ability to manage subscribers, but it’s a standalone system… It sounds like your host is using a different way to manage subscribers and we would not have any insight into that I’m afraid.

Have you reached out to Bluehost support to ask them about your subscription delivery issue? If it’s something you see only in their dashboard (but not the one provided through Jetpack) they would be in the best position to look into this, thanks!
