I don't understand blogs, but just want a web for viewers to navigate from home

  Navigate to pages from home page. I have pages completed and went into widgets and clicked on the attachment pages, but don’t see anything on my home page to guide viewers to my painting categories.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Have you gone through http://learn.wordpress.com yet? Do so. I think there are some fundamental misconceptions here. You can’t use categories on pages, for instance; they only work on posts.
