I don't want a quote displayed in the footer- how do I change this?

  • Unknown's avatar

Hi! I’m using the Forever Theme and I don’t want a quote of my most recent post to be displayed in the footer of my page. I read the page that says “Forever will also display your latest Quote or Status post in the footer of your blog. You can read more about how to do that on our Post Formats page.” and then searched around on the Post Formats Help page for how to change it and didn’t find anything. Can you please tell me how I can remove quotes from my footer? Thank you!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi christinatasca,

I took a look through the theme settings and I don’t see anyway to disable that.

If you have the Custom CSS product add-on then you would be able to hide it with a bit of CSS code. If you want to do that I would be more than happy to help you with the CSS code.

    Hi Sandy,

    (Sorry for the delayed response!)

Thanks for the insight and the offer to help. Unfortunately I don’t have the add-on as I keep the sight free. Perhaps I could reach out again if I change my mind in the future? I’m a total dunce when it comes CSS.

    Hi christinatasca,

There are a couple other options as well.
The first would be to find another theme that you like but that doesn’t show the quote.

The other would be to not use any Quote or Status post formats on your blog. That is where the theme gets the quote from.

So if you set all your posts back to the standard format that should go away.

    Hope that helps.
