I don’t want blocks!
-
I HATE blocks. I want all my text, all ten paragraphs of it, to be ONE block, just like a Word document, not ten separate ones. How can I turn off this stupid feature? I read the Classic Block vs. Block Editor and frankly it makes no sense to me. A Classic Editor ought to be the way it used to be.
I have some text in a letter I’ve written in Word, which I’ve copied. Now all I want to do is paste it into my new WordPress page, but it won’t let me.
What used to take me seconds has taken me a half-hour of research and I still can’t figure it out, so my page remains blank. I am so frustrated!
Please help!

We have tips for transitioning from the classic editor to blocks https://wordpress.com/support/switching-from-the-classic-to-the-block-editor/ and FAQs: https://wordpress.com/support/replacing-the-older-wordpress-com-editor-with-the-wordpress-block-editor/#frequently-asked-questions
And, if you really want to use something like the classic editor, we recommend sticking with the classic block: https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/classic-block/

If you have any feedback on the new editor, we’re always looking for ways to improve it, so please let us know!
