I don't want blog entries to appear in full on the front page

  Can anyone help me with this? I would prefer to have just the first few paragrahs of an entry show up on the front page, Reader would need to click on the post itself to read the entire one. Longer posts just seem to make a mess out of the front, i’d like everything to be uniform. any help would be much appreciated.
