I do not want to make an account with this avatar application. i want to remove my profile picture. if that is not possible how to i remove this account completely? so this image stops popping up?

Gravatar and wordpress.COM are both owned by Automattic Inc and are together forever so do be clear on that.

A wordpress.com account is a gravatar account. They are one in the same.
Note that gravatars/blavatars (favicons) do not show up instantly after uploading them. Gravatar images are cached and frequently take several days to display after a change.
