I don’t want my posts to publish in reader

I have made a blog that is just for my family and friends to read. I know it will be public if I don’t select “private”, but I didn’t think anyone else would ever read it because I wasn’t posting the link anywhere. Randomly people were “liking” my posts who I didn’t know. I learned that this is because WordPress automatically publishes everything in the Reader. I don’t want this! How do I turn it off so that my blog can be private-ish?
I don’t want to make it private because not everyone who I DO want to share my blog with wants to sign up for a wordpress account.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi –

You’ll need to make the entire site private. Only pre approved folks would be able to view the posts. Ask your family and friends to request access.

Otherwise, you can set the individual posts to be private and use a password system to view them.
