I don't want people to receive "new post" emails when I add retrospective posts
-
I would like to add a large number of “retrospective” posts, in order to add content to the website. These posts will be “dated” from 2002 – 2014, as they will contain information about the past (e.g. past events).
How can I turn off the “new post” alert – I do not want my followers to receive “new post” emails from me, because this may be confusing, and also they might not want to receive 100 “new posts” from me all in one go.
Please help. Thanks!

Hi!
There isn’t a way to temporarily disable new post alerts to email subscribers. The only option if you didn’t want these new posts to get sent out would be to change your blog visibility settings to private:

When your site is set to private, new post emails will not be sent out. I would recommend temporarily setting it to private when you publish a post and then setting it back to public.
