I don't want some posts appearing in my Front Page/Home

    Hello,
    I tried to find it on my own but I got a little bit confused so I am hoping that someone can clear it up for me.
    What I want is that, I don’t want some of my posts appearing on my front page, and only appearing if the category is selected. That is I have 6 categories on my blog (and I categorize every post I publish) and if I set a post only to the “Diary” category, I don’t want it to appear on my home page, but if it is “Diary” and something else, than I want it to appear. The reason is, my primary purpose for my blog is not keeping it as a diary but more like an information blog. But sometimes I just want to write how I feel too, but I don’t want those posts flooding my front page. Only people who want to read the diary posts, hence click on the category should be able to reach them.
    Is what I am asking possible? And if so how?

    Thank you for any help in advance

    @kardit

    Your best bet is to set a static Home Page for your site:

    Front Page

    Then, you can create a Custom Menu that links to each of your content Categories:

    Custom Menus

    Alternatively, you could make Diary entries Pages, instead of Posts:

    Pages vs. Posts
