I don’t want to change my domain name
-
Hi. I want to install a plug in called site kit but apparently can’t do so unless I upgrade to a business plan, which I can’t afford to, and I also don’t want to change my wordpress site address…

I think that plugin is geared particularly towards self hosted sites using the WordPress.org software that don’t already have any statistics available on their sites. WordPress.com provides statistics and good SEO even for free sites. You’d certainly need a Business plan to install that particular plugin (and AdSense).
You could always upgrade to a Premium plan to take advantage of Google Analytics:
PS: I believe you can upgrade to a paid plan and still keep just your original .wordpress.com address if you really want to. However having a custom domain would mean anyone clicking on a link to your original address would be seamlessly sent to the new domain. -

That’s correct. There’s no requirement to add a custom domain to the plan. You are paying for that feature though, as it’s included for the first year.
I’m happy to answer any other questions that come up, Lucy.
