I don't want to link a menu to the header
-
I’ve created an archives menu on the left sidebar and it appears redundantly under the “links” page in the header. I know it’s because I chose the links page as the parent for the menu’s individual pages but otherwise it creates 3 pages in the header for each of the 3 menu pages. lehmancoc.wordpress.com

You can create a cusom menu. In that case you can include the items you want in it and exclude those you do not want from it. See here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/
If you have a custom menu you can disable this setting > Appearance > Menus
Menu SettingsAuto add pages
__ Automatically add new top-level pages to this menu -
Thank you. Is there a way to do it so it doesn’t show redundantly in the header, only on the custom side menu?
