I entered the wrong email address upon starting my blog

I entered the email address (email visible only to moderators and staff) as opposed to (email visible only to moderators and staff) and now I can’t verify my website because I don’t own the email address I accidentally entered. I also can’t update my email because it says I have to confirm through the original email address.

You can update the email address in your account settings to the correct email address. That will send a confirmation email to the correct email address, with a link in the email to confirm that change. You can click that link to complete the process, which will also verify the new email address on your account.
However, please keep in mind that if your correct email address is already linked to a different WordPress.com account, you won’t be able to use it with this one. (Each WordPress.com account must use a unique email address.)
If your email address is linked to another account, and you can’t remember the login details, you can reset your password for that account by entering your email address in the password reset form:
