I found an Easter egg in Alexa

Hi there. I found an Easter Egg in Alexa and I want to share this with you.
You know that in alexa, if you add you blog info to your page where your blog is at and you saw that it requires you to enter either your email address or upload a .txt file. Well, here’s the Easter egg. When you get to the 2 requirements shown on the alexa page, ignore the text underneath the email bar that says it requires you to add (email visible only to moderators and staff) and type in your normal email address and press submit. Next thing you knew, Alexa will accept your information and will proceed to crawl your site.
I’ve tried that technique and discover that it works! You don’t have to upload the .txt file at all!
Try it and see if it works for you! If you are still having problems with this, please let me know!

Beats me. I just remember that *cough* lovely person we had a year ago who was trying to verify their blog with Alexa and I had to contact Alexa directly to see about a workaround. I just remember that that there was some reason why they were trying to do this so that they could get extra information or something like that.

I can get a fair bit of info from Alexa and I’m registered. But the fact is, Alexa’s information is all months out of date by design, so how helpful is that? Nobody I know uses it, although quite a lot of people are indexed on there.

Someone once told me that we get extra info when we hit the top 100,000 to 200,000 at Alexa.
