I gave the wrong email address for the activation link.

I gave the wrong email address when signing up. How do I rectify it? I can’t access the email because it was the wrong email address.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

While logged into your WordPress.com account, go to account settings and correct your email address: https://wordpress.com/me/account

When you click the “Save Account Settings” button, there’ll be a message saying that there’s a pending change. Check your inbox for the confirmation email and click the link within to verify your email address. The old email address just gets a notice saying the change has been requested. There isn’t a confirmation link included in that one so you don’t need access to that account.

If you signed up using Gravatar, sign in there first. Then go to WordPress.com and update your email address.

If none of that works, add “modlook” to the tags for this forum thread to let WordPress.com staff know that you need assistance with this issue.

    modlook <modlook>

I had a similar problem except mine is a bit more complicated. I already have a wordpress account for my own personal blog under a certain email address. I was tasked at work to create a site for the business. I registered a premium site but unfortunately made an error and registered under a wrong email address. It turns out that email address does exist but for someone else which means the activation link was sent to this person. I now have the domain name: http://www.richmondopportunitiesinc.org but cannot access it because of the aforementioned problem. Please help!

You have already created two threads on this and both have been tagged for staff help. Please wait for us to reply to you in one of those threads, and please don’t post into unrelated threads created by other users.

sure, sorry I’m just really desperate and didn’t get any followup in from the other ones (I know I just made them so of course you need time to reply). I’m just stressed out. Please forgive me.

  • I completely understand, but posting into other users’ threads actually make it harder for us to help you, as your account details are not included in the thread. I’ve already replied to your other thread.
