I get an "http error" whenever I try to upload pictures

  I have been using wordpress.com for my blog without any FTP client — just the basic package that comes when you sign up for free without doing any of my own coding. (And I hope to keep it that way) but over the past few months I’ve had a few episodes where I get an ‘http error’ whenever I try to upload any images. I still have space left in my account for uploads, have tried Firefox and Safari, cleared my cache. Sometimes it just reverts back to normal. But for the past few days it has not been working again.

  Is it because the internet connection is too slow? What else can I do to trouble shoot?

  No, it’s because of the http/https switchover that WordPress.com is doing (as long as you are SURE you have plenty of room left in your media library). There is nothing you can do but wait till they’ve finished fixing this.
