I get HTTP error when uploading photos from IPhoto

  • Unknown's avatar

I just started my first blog this morning and was able to upload 6 photos no problem, but now I’m getting an “HTTP error” message when I try to upload a 7th. All the photos were taken at the same time by the same camera, so no difference there.
I’ve cleared my browser history (one of the troubleshooting recommendations), and I definitely haven’t used anywhere near the 3GB (only 6 pictures to date!)
    help….

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

What is the URL of the blog? http://cboucher143.wordpress.com/ is empty.

Not sure what you mean. I just started on WordPress today!
It should have a greeting page called “My Gap Year in Joburg”. At least I can see that when I go to that address.
I haven’t posted anything yet.I have a draft post but it’s not finished until I can upload a couple more photos.

Ok, i’ll tag this for staff. Please subscribe to the thread and be patient while waiting for a response.

    ok, thanks.
Not sure how to subscribe. The only option I see is to “unsubscribe”, which I won’t do.

If you see that option it’s because you are already subscribed

    which I won’t do

    Perfect :)

  • Hi there!

Sorry to hear about the trouble you’re having. Could you please try uploading the 7th image using the browser uploader?

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/media/uploader/

Additionally, could you please try clearing your browser cache or use a different browser and see if that improves things?

If you can provide a screenshot, that would help me further investigate the http error.

    Take a Screenshot

    Thank you!

Turns out that it worked fine this morning!
I had already cleared the browser, but anyway my problem is now a different one.
I just started on WordPress yesterday and I worked on a post, did a number of edits, previewed it and then pressed “Publish”.
But when I go to the site it says there are “no posts to display”.
When I go to the “posts” on my dashboard, it says it’s still a draft…
Am i supposed to do something else?
If you tell me how to do it (i’ve tried), i can send you a screenshot.
    Thanks in advance

  • Hey there!

Glad to hear that the uploads worked fine. :)

I was able to publish your draft just now. How does it look on your end? I’m seeing two broken images on top of the post. Were those images deleted by any chance?

  • Unknown's avatar

That’s great. It looks good (well, I’m sure I’ll get better at this as I keep doing it)
    Thanks
When you say you were “able to publish” the draft, did you do something other than press the “publish” button?
I’m not sure what you mean by two broken images. I don’t see that on my end. I delete a few images when I was editing, but I don’t think that’s what you mean.

  • Hello again,

Yes, all I did was press the blue Publish button :)

Regarding the broken images: Are the two images above that post showing up for you? They aren’t for me.

Thanks, I had pressed the “Publish” button quite a few times, so not sure why it hadn’t worked.
I can see all the photos, although when I first opened it after publication, the second picture was a blank rectangle with a blue ? in the middle. I clicked in the box and the picture showed up.
but one of my readers says: “The first 2 pictures didn’t didn’t show. Just empty rectangle with a ? mark in the middle”. I’m assuming that’s what you mean. Not having this problem myself, oddly….

  • That’s weird. You can try to upload those images again in place of the missing ones. Let me know if you need an extra set of eyes when you do that.
