I get these notification emails but the comments don't show on my blog

  I get emails saying I have comments but when I go to admin/comments pending/awaiting moderation there’s nothing there. These are the emails I get
  Name: Gogi
  Email: (email visible only to moderators and staff)
  Comment: Hey Alison….great to see this up and running. Really looking forward to your posts…good luck xx

  Hi there!

  The email you received is an indication that someone filled out the Contact Form on your about page:

  Contact Form URL: https://buttonsandtrims.wordpress.com/about/

  The contact form submissions will be sent to you via email, but they do not appear as comments on your site. Only comments left in the comment box on your posts and pages will appear on your site.

  So I need to say “please comment in the comments box” on the blog and then they will show up at the bottom of the blog post?
  Thanks so much for your help, it’s very frustrating when people are commenting but it looks on the blog like there is no interest!

  Hey there,

  I think the placement of the contact form might be what is confusing. I would suggest creating a page called Contact, and adding the form to that page. Then, your visitors will know that this is the area where they can contact you privately.

  Alternatively, you could add the form to your sidebar. Then, you could say, “to send me a private message…” that sort of thing…before the contact form.

  If the contact form is placed above the comment box, it will continue being a bit of a red herring — I think your readers will assume that it’s where they should leave comments.
