I got an e-mail for something that I had paid but canceled for?

About a few weeks ago, I purchased WordPress Premium at $99. Shortly after, I canceled it for a renewal, yet it canceled the plan completely. This was not my intention. If I had already paid for the year, whether or not I cancel, I should still have the plan for this year. I got an e-mail now saying that on the 6th of this month, I’ll be charged $99. However, due to financial situation(s) I don’t actually get my paycheck until Thursday.
Why am I being charged for it again? Am I not able to, for some reason, keep this year since I’d already paid for it?
