I had a premium account, terrible experience, how do I get help?

I had a premium account for one year, it was a terrible experience. I could not understand the value of the package and therefore don’t think I got any value. Now I’m trying to switch to .org where I understand the experience is better but I can’t get my blog to work at all. So, since my subscription expired, am I blocked from my blog?

First, I’m sorry you had a negative experience with the Premium bundle! That shouldn’t affect your site itsashort.wordpress.com or any self-hosted site you try to setup. Could you explain the issues you’re having a bit more? Also, could you let me know the domain you’re trying to setup as a self-hosted site?

The issues are numerous! First, I have no idea what the benefits were to having the package. I had a word press site, I wasn’t able to do everything I wanted and I was consistently told it was because I was using the .com platform instead of the.org platform. I really couldn’t customize the site, I could mainly just change colors and add a few features.
It was difficult to know how to create blog posts using a wide range of content. Using the ‘insert media’ tab was not consistently perfect and now that I have not renewed my subscription, I can’t seem to use it at all. Inserting video from anywhere other than youtube seemed to be impossible.
I could not find nor did I necessarily know where to find good video tutorials that would explain the features of the wordpress site. I read your blog posts but I didn’t find all of them totally helpful.
I have not renewed my subscription because I am trying to move to the .org platform. I’m hoping that will be easier. Please share with me a link to videos that explain the features of blog posting, advantages of the platform, and sources of online support when I get stuck.

The Premium bundle allows you to change the colors and fonts of your site as well as use Custom CSS, which is a bit more advanced.
Now that I have not renewed my subscription, I can’t seem to use it at all. Inserting video from anywhere other than youtube seemed to be impossible.
You will not be able to upload a video directly to your site without the Premium bundle. The bundle includes an upgrade called VideoPress, which is broken down a bit more here:
Without the Premium bundle, you can still upload videos through any of the following methods (including YouTube):

Happy to! First, it’s important to understand the differences between WordPress.com and a self-hosted site using WordPress.org software. We only support WordPress.com sites. You can read more about the differences here:
A self-hosted site using WordPress.org software gives you unlimited freedom. You can upload your own themes or even install plugins, which are little additions that can help to enhance your site. The main difference is that the behind-the-scenes stuff like backups, security, etc are all on your plate as well.
