I had someone writing for me as a contributor, but once the post was published they couldn’t get comments on the posts. I run the site and no one can comment on his posts, though they can post on mine. Very VERY frustrating as I don’t understand why a contributor would’;t be allowed to get comments .

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

As a blog’s administrator you can enable or disable comments on any post, regardless of author. Click “edit” for his post, then check the boxes in these instructions:

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/enable-disable-comments/#enabledisable-comments

Your blog’s current discussion settings have these checked by default. Unless those were recently changed, if they’re not enabled he must have unchecked them when he created the post.

I just checked and those two options aren’t even available to me and I am the site creator and admin. He doesn’t click anything when he does the post, just writes it then sends it to me. I still find it strange that it only happens with his posts, but he is my boyfriend and he sits right next to me when he’s doing them and I see him send them to me and he doesn’t change any settings or touch anything other then the title, the main post and to click “submit post”, I even put the tags in etc myself. I cannot see any of the areas the post mentioned to check/uncheck those options, is there another possibility?

    Hi there,

If you’re not seeing those checkboxes in the post’s editor, try clicking your Screen Options panel, and make sure “Discussion” is checked:

Those checkboxes are really the only place where comments are enabled/disabled, and they’ll exist on every WordPress.com site — but they might be “hidden” in that Screen Options panel.

    Best,

    -Alex G.
