I hate block editor, and I have a mac

I have a mac and the classic editor plug in is a zip file that I cannot open on my mac. This is making my wordpress experience absolute hell. Isn’t there a dmg file I can click on or some way you can install it to my account? Please help!

  • Hi @ileftmyheartinkorea, could you send a link to the site you’re having trouble with? If it’s here on our servers, you won’t need the plugin. Just use these steps:

If it’s hosted elsewhere, upload the zip via Plugins rather than installing locally.

I figured it out before this response but I’m sorry to say, I now really hate WordPress. I’ve been using it for 7 years and now every time I need the classic editor I have a waste time creating a block so I can have what originally had without effort. This block format is horrible and users should have been given the choice as to whether to stick to the old format or use the new.

My question is, if I purchase a business subscription, can I get the old format back or I’m doomed with block editor?

  • Hi there,

My question is, if I purchase a business subscription, can I get the old format back or I’m doomed with block editor?

The Business plan allows the installation of plugins and therefore you’ll be able to install the Classic Editor plugin:

    Classic Editor

This is an official WordPress plugin that restores the old editor.
