I’ve resolved the immediate problem. I was trying to login using an e-mail address to which WordPress had previously sent me e-mails. When I first attempted this I was told the password was incorrect, implying that the e-mail address was valid. Upon asking for a Password reset, and attempting to re-login, I was now told that the e-mail address was not registered as an account. Upon double-checking the Password reset e-mail, I spotted that the account id was the e-mail address without the @gmail.com. A further login attempt, omitting the @gmail.com and using the newly set password, worked fine. I’m a happy bunny!
