I have a domain a website through go daddy and I want to switch to wordpress

I own a domain a website through go daddy and I want to switch to wordpress. I am currently using Website Builder which I purchased through Go Daddy but I would rather have my site hosted through wordpress and use the wordpress tools which may be easier for me to use since I just want to have a personal website that acts as an interactive LinkedIn.

How would I go about doing this?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

First set up a free site here on WordPress.com. Then you can map your domain away from GoDaddy and onto our hosting service by following this guide:

    https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/

Once that’s done, you can cancel any hosting services you have with GoDaddy, but keep your domain registered and renewed.

Let me know if you have specific questions about any of those steps.
