innerstrengthmh.com is my domain. i just bought it from is old owner. it was CCF. i am trying to get my site away from them before they try to close it. i do not know how my site is set up or how its paid. i do not really like the site and the backend has a lot of stuff that does not pertain to me. i have kinda figured out wordpress – even though i still think its hard. i don’t want to have to start all over, and their old host wants to host for me at 15 a month, but i don’t know what he does or why i need him, can you help?

Hello @innerstrengthmh! Let’s dive right in as there is quite a bit to cover. First let’s talk about WordPress – this is awesome opensource software that can be used to build amazing sites!
Having established that, the forum you have posted on is for WordPress sites hosted by WordPress.com. Your current site is built with WordPress software but running on another hosting provider. You can read more about the difference here:
If you post on:

They may be able to help you move along more efficiently. However here is something to get you started:

What you need for any website is:
– A domain name (site address) – which you have
– A hosting provider (physical computer resources)
– ContentIt seems that you currently have a domain name but are stuck with a hosting provider you don’t like and are not sure as to how to move content. The exporting link above should help with moving content – provided you have access to the WordPress backend. If you manage to export the site content and settings from your current hosting provider then you will not have to start over – YAY!
So what I suggest is export the content from the current site. Then find a hosting company you like – not sure if I can post good ones here but you can shop around. Then setup a blank WordPress installation with that hosting company and import your content.
Now you have your domain name on whatever hosting company you desire with the content you exported. At this point you can change or modify the content to whatever you like and if you are not sure remember to keep backups. Good luck, hope this info helps a bit.

Hi there,
I just want to suggest another option, which is to move the site to WordPress.com. In that case you don’t need to pay anyone for hosting, and your site will never be taken offline because you did not pay for the renewal of a hosting plan. All upgrades on WordPress.com are optional and pay for additional features, not for hosting.
If you want to keep using your current domain you’ll need one of our plans in order to transfer the domain to us, and if you have any plugins active on the site that you want to keep using you’ll need our Business Plan. But if you only want to make sure you don’t lose any of your content it won’t cost you anything to move here, and we take care of all the technical maintenance for you.
We have a complete guide how to migrate an existing site to us here:

And you can find a tutorial on how to manage your site using WordPress.com here:
