    How do I download and register with these annual fees? Is it possible to just use the program the program without fees?

    I don’t have a site with WordPress.com yet

    Hi there,

    There are two types of WordPress. One is self-hosted using open source WordPress.org. Another would be WordPress.com which is managed hosting for your WordPress website.

    In summary, for WordPress.org (self-hosting) you will require a domain name and a hosting server to host your website. For WordPress.com, you can create a website for free and then upgrades if you need any additional functions.
