I have a new account with wordpress that was set up by a third party and I cannot access that accoun

  hello!
  I set up a free wordpress blog several weeks ago (summerleephoto.wordpress.com).

  This week, I purchased a blogsite from Into the Darkroom that runs on WordPress. They set everything up for me. All I had to do was enter a username and password to access my wordpress administration panel for the new blogsite. The username is summer and the password is literature. For the past two days, I have had no problem accessing my admin panel to work on my new blogsite. This morning I could not access it. It kept saying the password was incorrect. I tried to reset the password and it would not let me do that for the username summer. It kept sending me the link to reset for the username summerleephoto (which is the username for my free account mentioned above). After some googling I discovered that that by default wordpress only lets you have one account for a particular email. I can’t figure out how to change this. I also can’t figure out why I was able to access the admin panel for my new blogsite for two days, but this morning I can’t. Totally confused and would appreciate any help you can give me!!!!

  Hi Summer – I can see why you are confused.

  There are two different “versions” of WordPress – WordPress.com and WordPress.org. The major difference is that the WordPress.org version is one that is hosted somewhere else – not here at WordPress.com. (You can read about all the major differences here.)

  So, you have two separate blogs: the one here at WordPress.com (summerleephoto.wordpress.com), and the one you purchased from intothedarkroom.com (www.summerleephotography.com).

  I think you can probably login to your non-WordPress.com blog (with the username and password you were given by the darkroom folks) at http://www.summerleephotography.com/wp-admin/ .

  Thanks coffeeanmatt! That worked like a charm. I also changed all my passwords for both accounts since I was dumb enough to post them in a public help topic (realized I did that instantly after I posted the help question and had a minor panic attack – I am failing at life majorly this morning, but figuring out this problem is helping, so thanks again!)
