I have a Premium upgrade account but told I need to purchase domain name mapping
-
I am told I have to purchase the domain name mapping upgrade to use a domain name I already own, even though I have purchased the $99 premium upgrade.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello,
I have just purchased the premium upgrade, but when I try to add my own domain name purchased from 1and1 at a previous date, WordPress inform me that I need to purchase the domain name mapping upgrade; something that was advertised as one of the premium benefits.
I have only just purchased the upgrade, so would it need time? It is showing in my upgrades already though.
Thanks.

Not to worry. What is the URL please? I’ll tag this thread for Staff assistance. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.
-
Hi, exactly which page URL should I post? Sincere apologies, I am incredibly new to this!
-
My current URL is: http://richardgreenwork.wordpress.com/
But I am wanting to change it to offsubject.co.uk. I have changed the names from my provider (1and1).

Staff will deal with the financial part of this issue as soon as they can. I’ll simply post the process below so you are aware of it while waiting.
In order to map to a domain one must have an underlying .wordpress.com subdomain blog to map from. If you have registered a .wordpress.com blog you log in under the exact same username account that registered the blog and purchase a domain name by purchasing an annually renewable domain mapping upgrade for the blog. http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
Dashboard > Store > My Upgrades is where you do the primary blog set up knowing it can take between 24 – 72 hours for domain name propagation to take place throughout the internet. You can view the DNS changes here > http://www.whatsmydns.net/ What’s important during that stage is to be patient.

The Premium Upgrade was purchased onto your wayoffsubject.wordpress.com blog. Do you want me to move it to your other blog so you can add the domain mapping?
-
Hello,
Yes I would like you to move that over please. Would it be possible to delete the other blog that doesn’t connect with the premium account?
I am really struggling with this at the moment!
It appears I have:
wayoffsubject in addition to richardgreenwork, but they both appear.
I would like just to have one blog, which is in sync with my premium account, domain mapped to offsubject.co.uk.
-
Hello,
Sorry to have to write another message but I have managed to do the above! I am now using the wayoffsubject blog and I can see the premium upgrades are synced.
Would it now be possible to delete: wayoffsubject.wordpress.com from the account so there is no more confusion!
Thanks,
Richard

You need to keep at least one blog. The domain mapping upgrade just covers the address of your blog, in your case offsubject.co.uk redirects to your wayoffsubject blog now.
To permanently delete your blog, please follow this guide: http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/delete-blog/
Please read the warnings and advice before deleting a blog. We can’t revert blog deletion for any reason.
If you want to hide your blog instead, please use privacy option so only you and logged-in members of the blog can view it. http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/
Please let us know if you need any further assistance!
