I have a self-hosted site using Woocommerce

    I have my own site using Storefront and Woocommerce hosted with my own web provider. I’m trying to install the Woo app on my phone, but iots telling me I have no wordpress.com account.

    I’ve just created the account, but it its asking me to connect the site to wordpress.com. I want to stay with my own web provider, so the options are ‘transfer’ or ‘connect’.

    Do these change my hosting details or move my site away from my own provider onto wordpress.com?

    I don’t have a site with WordPress.com yet

    Creating an account on WordPress.com would not mess with the hosting configuration of your current projects. In order to change hosting providers you would need to access the back end of your domain, and update the name servers or IP to point that domain to our service. It’s not something that would typically happen by accident.

    Creating a WordPress.com account will allow you to use the app, but we do not have to be the hosting provider. I hope that helps. Write back if you have any other questions.
