I have a service error:There was a problem getting the configuration information

  In the dashboard of juliedemo.wordpress.com there is a box in the middle that usually has an “introduction to wordpress.com.” My dashboard shows a black box with the words: service error:There was a problem getting the configuration information. Please try. (it stops here so cannot read the rest of the error)

  This could be something to do with another error that I have, which is, I have a category that does not give me the option to delete, nor does it have a checkbox on the side. I presume this happened when I was trying to delete a load of categories and the ones I deleted kept coming back a few seconds later and the ones that I added disappeared.

  Something has obviously become corrupted and needs to be realigned of sorts. Can anyone help? I am about to revamp the whole site so don’t want any further strange errors coming up!

  Thank you for correcting my service error – it is now showing the intro to wp.

  But if anyone can help with the category error I would appreciate it. I have searched the forums and can only find people saying they had to re-install their WP so lost all their data, which I don’t want to do!
