I have a website on 1and1.com and I use the WP setup for my sites. How can I use it here?

    I would like to be able to use the WP app to edit my website via my mobile, but I don’t know how to do it.

    Hello,
    If you have wordpress.org hosted on 1and1.com then you can not use Official Wp app, as it is only made wordpress.com hosted website.

    Thanks for the response. That’s what I thought, but after a bit of pushing….
    But IT WORKS!!!

    Story:
    If you have the WordPress package on 1and1.com you “have a wp hosted site” but I had to go online and create a WP login. On the PC it says that you can transfer your site for them to host, or pay to “Map your domain.” Once I had the login, I opened up the app on my cell phone, and signed in, it let me add it no problem, and then I just started adding a blog post to my site http://coralrepairman.com/ but it didn’t publish until I clicked on the link to ensure that it was me who created this!

    Steps by the numbers…
    1) Create WP login
    2) Open up the app on cell phone
    3) Sign in
    4) Click the W My Site
    5) Add your website
    6) Click the emailed link
    7) Start creating new blog posts

    I hope this helps others, as I saw many posts of the same issue!

    Yeah, as you’ve learned, you can definitely use the apps for both self-hosted WordPress.org sites and WordPress.com-hosted sites. I use the apps all the time to work on my self-hosted sites.

    The app support pages actually include instructions for connecting your site (whether hosted on WordPress.com or self-hosted with WordPress.org software) to the app.
