I have a WordPress developer making a website for me , according to him once the website is completed he will convert it to WordPress and send the link to me. and according to him i will upload it on to my server. how do i do that. I have a domain name that i purchased through the GoDaddy can I use this domain with WordPress for this website please advise how do I go about doing this.

Hi there,
It sounds like your developer is building your site using the other version of WordPress, called WordPress.org. To use that site, you’ll need to get a hosting plan with GoDaddy along with your domain, and then you need to install WordPress there. Your developer should be able to upload the site there for you if you give them access to your hosting account with GoDaddy. GoDaddy support can tell you the best way to do that on their interface.
For more help with that site, please post in the WordPress.org forums, as we can’t help with that version of WordPress here on WordPress.com. Our upgrades also don’t apply to self-hosted sites, so you don’t need to buy anything on our end – your site is in no way connected to us. It just has a similar name :)
