I have a wordpress.org site and need to know if deleting this account will have any ramifications

  Hi,
  I have WordPress.org set up through bluehost and am wondering if deleting this account will have any ramifications.
  The other account linked to this one is synced, but I’m wondering if I can delete both. If I hit Jetpack in my dashboard, it takes me here so I would like to know how they are linked and what happens if I try and disconnect. I was told by someone I have duplicate content and am wondering if it’s because these accounts are still here.

  Hi there,

  Your Bluehost site is connected to your WordPress.com account via the Jetpack plugin. Jetpack allows you to manage the site from your WordPress.com account, but it also powers several features on your site:

  You currently have Jetpack stats and subscriptions enabled, you’re using the Publicize feature which auto-shares your new posts to Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn, and you have Jetpack’s Protect feature active, which helps prevent unauthorised logins to your site’s dashboard. If you disconnect Jetpack and delete this WordPress.com account, all those features will stop working, as they rely on this connection.

  However, you can delete your free WordPress.com site, http://vanessasnonspoilers.wordpress.com/, without it having any impact on your Jetpack-connected site. You can do that from Settings ->General for the site you want to delete.

  I was told by someone I have duplicate content and am wondering if it’s because these accounts are still here.

  That’s definitely not due to anything on our end. Your WordPress.com site is set to private, and it’s not visible to search engines. So even if it contained the exact same content as your Bluehost site, it won’t cause duplicate content issues.

  I see you’re using the Yoast SEO plugin on your site. If there’s duplicate content causing SEO issues, the folks at Yoast will be able to help you identify and fix those issues, so I recommend you reach out to their support about this.
